Chapter 50
Chapter 50
David Rossi was very annoyed.
Emotionally, he hopes he can believe that the person in front of him is innocent. But from his professional and intellectual point of view, this man is hiding too much. And he has spent three days, and the other party has not said any meaningful information.
"Jimmy, stop wasting our time and tell the truth, or I can't help you."
"I really appreciate you coming, but there's really nothing you can do. My wife has too much to do." The other party smiled at him and shook his head, "David, go back, you shouldn't be here."
"Jimmy, I know you don't kill people for no reason, let alone your son." Rossi took the other's hand.
"David, we've all changed a lot." The other party suddenly withdrew his hand and stood up, turning around and gesturing to the prison guard outside the door.
Rossi watched helplessly as the other party in prison uniform was handcuffed again, and followed the staff through the corridor to the detention room.
Then he saw Aaron Hotch turning from the other direction, in a fitted three-piece suit, meticulously packed. Rossi was taken aback, almost dazed, and then instantly angry.
Hotch apparently saw him and the prisoner too, standing there and not coming over right away.
"What are you here for?" Rossi stepped forward, his voice was quite obvious in the quiet corridor, and there was a vague reproach in his tone, even the prisoners who turned their backs to them and left couldn't help but look back a few more times.
"The case." Hotch took a half step back, "Come follow the clues."
"Aaron." Rossi took a deep breath, suppressing the urge to get angry, and stared at him. "I don't need help."
"Gideon has stressed this to me. I don't doubt it, but I need to," Hotch said quickly.
The two looked at each other for a few seconds, Rossi's eyes were full of disbelief, then he sighed, turned and walked out, "Tell me, what troublesome case Gideon gave you."
Hotch followed him, the corners of his mouth raised slightly, and he handed over the materials he had prepared, "It's a suspicious suicide case, and the clues led me here."
Rossi stopped and flipped through the pages quickly, "Looks like we're probably working on the same case. Sometimes I hate your curiosity...but don't change it. Well, Jimmy is one of my...old friends , he was found kneeling in front of his son's body with a gun in his hand. And his wife found me."
"While unreasonable, it doesn't sound suspicious. And as far as I know, you're investigating suicide."
Rossi shook his head, "I know Jimmy, he is very religious, and for him, honor is more important than life. If he really did it, then his son must have other problems. In addition, his wife said that his son joined a certain organization, and the suicide rate of members of this organization is surprisingly high."
"Cult? Sounds like if his lawyer insists that his son committed suicide, he might not be found guilty." Hotch frowned.
"Very likely. But the problem is that he doesn't speak. So far, we haven't found any member of the organization who can speak, and we have no way of knowing its situation. We only know that the code name of the organization is CL. As for the scene... I have not yet Go check it out yourself."
Hotch had a flash of inspiration, "Changing lives?"
"From living to dead?" Rossi turned to stare at him. "And don't remind me that you were a lawyer."
"That's a huge change." Hotch pointed to the bold testimony section on the file in his hand. "I thought you didn't want him to be guilty."
Rossi was silent for a moment, "I will come to see him again tomorrow, but you come to interrogate. I don't think Jimmy will talk to me. I really don't want him to be guilty, but it is not my thoughts that determine whether he is guilty."
"Technically, it's the jury that's going to decide whether he's guilty. It's not hard for you to sway the jury." Hotch raised an eyebrow. "Since he's your… old friend."
"You're right, but it's not what you think, murder is a felony, I don't think that way." Rossi sighed again, "Come on, Aaron, we really don't have to go the same way that Jason and I did."
"Oh, relax." Hotch shrugged, "I'm just a little curious. Besides, our situation is completely different. If I have to say, I'm a little bit more concerned about Gideon staying at your house than this. But you don't have to worry about it. And time is running out, later, judging by the time of death, now I suspect there will be another victim, take me to your office, I have to tell you what I find. And I think we need to go to the scene to re- Looking for more clues."
