Chapter 1103: Life in Another World (Part 1)
'What is going on?' Aurora thought as her mind was in a panic. Her whole world felt like it was twisting, wrapping away right in front of her eyes.
'One moment, I was trying to deal with that annoying cat that kept messing up my magic circle, and then... and then... before I knew it, something strange zapped in front of me. It was powerful; the mana was unimaginable, and it felt like I had been sucked in... and now... and now.'
Aurora raised her hand to her head, wondering if something had happened, or a spell had been cast on her, but she could sense no such thing. She could sense no mana at all. Instead, putrid smells filled her nose.
The dust in the air was heavy, and the grumbling sounds of constant chatter going around her were all that she could hear.
"Where am I?" Aurora asked.
The people who were walking past her, who was standing in the middle of a stone flooring, stared for a few moments, as they continued on their way, making sure to stay away from her as if she was a mad person.
"I don't understand. Did I get transported somewhere, but everything looks so old? There's people selling things from market stalls. Kids with muddy hands running about through the open street, and food is being cooked outside!" Aurora said. "Not just that, I don't even understand what they're saying. Don't the people of Alterian just have one language?"
Looking around, Aurora had no idea where she was, and so in this foreign land, the first action was to figure it out. Walking, she wanted to see if she would notice anything familiar. She had already tried to use her communication bracelet, but it hadn't worked at all.
As she continued through the streets, she was looking for buildings, a guild base, anything, but there seemed to be nothing that she could recognize. She had been to quite a few different countries thanks to her brother's position, but she had never stumbled in such a place before.
In the end, she decided that she had no choice but to ask a few people where she was. She had attempted to ask the market people, but she couldn't understand what they were saying, and it seemed like they couldn't understand what she was saying either.@@@@
When they knew she wasn't there to buy anything, they just shooed her away with their hands. "My feet are starting to hurt because of this stone flooring," Aurora complained. "Should I just use Wind magic... speaking of, I don't think I've even seen anyone use any magic since I got here. Everyone is using their hands, or their own fire."
Seeing such a precious gem thrown onto the floor like that, she had no idea what to do now; it was her only chance of getting something to eat.
"What's wrong? Does the pretty lady not have any money?" A man said behind her.
Hearing voices, Aurora turned her head and could see a man with an eyepatch and a large sword covering his back.
"I'll tell you what, since you're quite pretty, I'll pay for the food for you," the man suggested.
"I... don't understand what you're trying to say?" Aurora asked.
The man, hearing the strange words, raised an eyebrow. "A communication problem, I see. How about this?" The man then pointed to the food and imitated eating it, then he pointed to Aurora. Finally, with his two hands, he connected his index finger with his thumb, making a circle, and then with his other hand and index finger, he proceeded to move the finger into the circle.
Immediately, the man started to laugh after, as Aurora's fists were shaking. "You think... that someone like me... would be so low, to do such a thing... just for food!" Aurora said as she lifted her head and then opened her hand. Immediately, flames appeared, causing the man to
step back.
"If you suggest that, I'll burn your dick off!" Aurora shouted.
