Chapter 653 The Surprised Sirius
Hogwarts, Room of Requirement, eighth floor.
"It's incredible. I never knew there was such a magical place in the castle." Sirius looked around the room, which was about the size of the Great Hall. He couldn't help but retreat back to the corridor, then pushed open the door and came in again.
Okay, he wasn't mistaken; a huge room did indeed appear out of thin air.
"Remus, do you know this place?"
"No, this is my first time here too," Lupin said, shaking his head.
"How did you find this place?" Sirius asked loudly.
“There’s no need to look,” Celen said. “The House of Requirement will appear when people really need it.”
"Incredible!" Sirius exclaimed again. "You're amazing!"
"It's a great honor to receive praise from Bigfoot and Moonface," Siron said with a smile. "Your Marauder's Map has also been a great help to me; it's probably the most comprehensive Hogwarts map I've ever seen."
"We thought we had explored the whole castle, but now it seems we are far from it," Sirius said.
The Marauder's Map was one of his proudest achievements—they had explored the entire castle before graduation, an accomplishment few had achieved in over a thousand years. They did it, and naturally, they had reason to be proud.
That was true at least until today.
However, just now, after walking back and forth in the corridor three times, a door that he had no recollection of appeared on the previously blank wall.
Sirius suddenly realized that Hogwarts Castle was not as simple as he had imagined—their claim of having explored the entire castle seemed to be temporarily questioned.
Lupin, standing nearby, was equally shocked, and unlike Sirius, he also noticed another crucial piece of information that Sirius had mentioned—
The House of Requirement appears when people really need it.
If there's a real need—if the Screaming Shack doesn't exist, this seems like a good place to get through the transformation, provided he can find it.
"It's a pity I graduated a long time ago, otherwise I could have added this place to the Marauder's Map," Sirius said, sounding somewhat regretful.
Marauder's Map was once his most perfect work, but now it has become imperfect, which is not a happy thing.
However, Sirius quickly forgot about it; Dumbledore's matter was the most pressing issue at the moment.
"How can we help you?" he asked, looking at Xilun. "Anything is fine with us."
"Dark magic—" Siren said, "Do you know it?"
"Of course," Sirius said. "Not just me, Remus will too. What does it matter?"
"Yes, and it's very important," Siren said, taking out his silver mane and telling the two of them his thoughts.
When Sirius and Lupin heard that a wand could dispel dark magic attached to a soul, they showed the same bewildered expressions as Harry and the others.
But they were, after all, adult wizards who had participated in wars, more experienced and more mentally resilient. They quickly regained their composure. "Are you sure?" Sirius asked anxiously, his eyes darting around as he glanced instinctively at Lupin, who remained silent to the side.
"It's not entirely certain yet," Celen said. "That's why I need your help."
"Okay." Sirius didn't hesitate, and without even asking a question, he nodded in agreement. "How can we help you?"
"Use dark magic on the opponent." Sirius looked at Sirius, then at Lupin, and continued, "The simpler the better, but it must be dark magic, so that even if my idea is wrong, it won't cause too much damage."
"I'll do it," Lupin said to Sirius. "You use your dark magic on me."
"Okay." Sirius immediately agreed, as if he couldn't wait to make Lupin his target.
Something's not right—he agreed too quickly; this isn't like Sirius Black.
Xilun frowned slightly and subconsciously looked over.
He had already prepared himself to wait ten minutes after he finished speaking, waiting for the two of them to argue back and forth, neither willing to let the other be the target.
Given their situation, ten minutes might not be enough, and it could take even longer, because neither Sirius nor Lupin was willing to do anything to harm the other, not even the simplest form of dark magic.
For them, being the target is actually the easier position.
But Sirius didn't expect Sirius to agree so readily.
"Werewolves are a curse too." Sirius calmly said, facing Sirius's questioning gaze, "If your wand truly possessed that kind of magical power, perhaps—"
Sirius didn't continue, but both Sirius and Lupin understood.
Lupin stood there stiffly, his breathing becoming rapid—yes, werewolves were also a curse, the most terrible curse. Xilun opened his mouth as if to speak but hesitated.
He didn't want to dampen his enthusiasm, but Silvermane was too calm when facing Lupin, showing none of the eagerness he displayed when standing next to Dumbledore.
After a moment of silence, Sirius waved his wand, and a bright blue unicorn appeared out of thin air in front of Sirius and Lupin.
Apart from its color and condition, it looks no different from a living unicorn, and its translucent color and condition, more beautiful than sapphire, make it appear even more sacred than an ordinary unicorn.
The unicorn walked slowly in mid-air, as if taking a stroll.
But this leisurely demeanor dampened Lu Ping's newly excited enthusiasm.
"Alright, let's get started." Lupin pursed his lips and said casually, "Bigfoot, remember to start with the easy stuff first, give me some breathing room."
"Don't worry, no problem." Sirius, unaware of what the unicorn's soul's state meant, confidently took out his wand and aimed it at Lupin.
"First of all—grinning broadly!"
A beam of light struck Lupin directly, and he immediately burst into uncontrollable laughter.
But the unicorn's spirit continued to wander in mid-air, without even glancing at Lupin.
Clearly, not all black magic can provoke the hostility of unicorns; at least this kind of black magic, which is more like a prank, doesn't qualify.
But Siron still waved his wand, controlling the unicorn's soul to pass through Lupin's body.
"Ugh————"
Lu Ping groaned and collapsed to his knees.
"Remus, how are you?" Sirius immediately ran over and asked with concern.
"It's nothing." Lu Ping shook his head and let out a long breath.
"How are you feeling?"
"It felt like being punched," Lupin said. "It hurt a bit, but it really worked."
Sirius then noticed that Lupin had stopped laughing.
