Chapter 15 Isn't this a basic ability of a wizard?
Half a year passed quickly. The old demon king had long since run out of things to teach, but he had grown accustomed to the little wizard's presence. He was somewhat reluctant to part ways with him now that they were about to separate.
Dumbledore came to pick him up, but instead of taking Owen back to Hogwarts, he took him to another old friend. This old friend was very shy; when faced with the young wizard's bright eyes, he would smile gently and then look away.
"Newt, this is Irving. He'll be asking you to take care of him for the next three months."
"Okay, I'll take good care of him, Mr. Owen. Please come with me."
Mr. Newtschedulman’s house wasn’t big, at least not as big as his suitcase, but it was spacious yet orderly, full of life, much better than the old devil’s place.
But what was most surprising was that shortly after Owen entered the room, a small creature suddenly appeared on the little wizard. It grabbed the little wizard's clothes with one paw and waved the other back and forth in front of the little wizard.
Wu Wen was taken aback at first, then replied apologetically, "I'm sorry, I only have books and notes here. But I can ask Headmaster Dumbledore to give you a Galleon when he picks me up, is that alright?"
The little creature nodded in satisfaction, but just as it was about to leave, a hand reached out and grabbed it by the scruff of its neck. Newt glanced at the Niffler in his hand, then at the little wizard: "Can you communicate with it?"
Owen tilted his head: "Isn't it normal for wizards to communicate with magical creatures?"
Is this normal?
Newt was stunned, but just as he was wondering how to start the conversation, another pair of hands reached out from behind the little wizard: "Oh, lovely little wizard, let me guess, you're not lost, are you?"
"This is Tina, my wife."
Owen turned around and bowed to the old woman: "It's a pleasure to meet you, madam. I am Owen Carrot, and I was sent here by Headmaster Dumbledore to study with Mr. Newt. I apologize for disturbing your life."
Looking at the well-behaved little wizard, Tina's heart overflowed with affection. "Darling, you don't need to apologize. I'm so glad you came. I made some cookies earlier, would you like to try some?"
"Thank you, but I think Mr. Newt has something to say to me. Could you wait a moment? I'm really looking forward to your cookies."
The book "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" is a textbook for Hogwarts. What's even more amazing is that the book is still being written and updated. Owen was quite excited to meet the author of the textbook.
Newt secretly breathed a sigh of relief when he saw that the little wizard hadn't been dragged away by his wife. He did have many questions that needed the little wizard's answers, but now he didn't need to; he just needed to give it a try.
The suitcase was opened, and Owen followed Newt inside. The first thing they saw was a study, and on the desk was an animal—the Niffler who had just asked Owen why he didn't have Galleons on him. In the blink of an eye and a few words, this chubby little guy had acted incredibly fast.
Next to the study was another door. Pushing it open was like opening a gate to another world. Outside was a grassland, and not far away was a forest. Beyond the forest was a snow-capped mountain. Oh, and on the edge of the grassland was a large lake, only slightly smaller than Black Lake.
Newt led the young wizard toward the forest. On the way, Newt suddenly spoke up, "Dumbledore said that for the first six months you were studying with Grindelwald? Were you learning dark magic?"
Owen nodded: "Yes, but black magic is too simple and has little research value, so what I learned more from Mr. Grintworth was various techniques."
Newt suddenly didn't know what else to say, but he trusted his companion more. Just as they entered the forest, a yellow light flashed by. Before Owen could see what kind of animal it was, a large cat appeared between them. The cat's tail was thick and long, and it wrapped around the little wizard's hand.
"Waaah..."
Upon seeing the big cat, the little wizard wasn't afraid; on the contrary, he showed an excited expression: "So cute!"
Owen didn't just talk; he also got handsy. After touching the big cat's fur, the big cat moved too. It stretched out a paw and pulled the little wizard into its arms, then rubbed its face against the little wizard's and showed a satisfied expression.
The Newts were dumbfounded. They had never encountered anything like this before. It was understandable for a person to suck on a cat, but for a cat to suck on a person... This was a first.
"Jona? Nice to meet you, my name is Owen."
"Are you a leopard cat?"
"No, I think the patterns on your body are beautiful."
Newt didn't leave either, but sat down to the side, watching the little wizard and the leopard cat communicate freely, smiling as he did so.
He loves magical creatures and treats each one with sincerity, which is evident in his writings and is the fundamental reason for his current success.
Newt himself knew this and had always maintained it, but he did not expect that he would now encounter a young wizard who could gain the favor of magical creatures without any means and could even communicate with them without any barriers.
"Do you want a boyfriend?"
The little wizard's words suddenly startled Newt awake. He saw the little wizard sitting on the ground, with the leopard cat resting its head on his lap. The little wizard's expression was somewhat conflicted: "I'm afraid only Mr. Newt can help you with this... No, it's not that I don't want to help you, but I'm still too young to go too far. But don't worry, Mr. Newt is a very powerful wizard, he will definitely have a way."
Newt saw the leopard cat glance at him, then show a hint of disgust...
Newt: ...
Stimulated by the leopard cat's gaze, Newt left home that very night. Tina, however, seemed used to it and paid no attention, instead warmly welcoming the adorable little wizard.
Watching him enjoy the cookies and snacks he had made himself, I felt better and better.
"Madam, your cooking is superb, just as good as my mother's, even the taste is the same!"
Tina had learned a little about the young wizard's situation, and hearing what he said, she felt a little sad: "Darling, don't be sad for the deceased. I think your parents would be very proud of you."
Owen nodded. "Yes, they certainly will, madam. May I ask where I'll be staying tonight? I'm used to reading before bed; will that be too much for you?"
"Of course not, my dear. A studious little wizard always gets a reward. Let me think, what should I reward you with?"
"Meow!"
"Meow!"
"Meow!"
Three cat-like creatures appeared. They circled around Tina first, and then sat down opposite the little wizard.
"It seems they like it too..."
"I'm here to learn from Mr. Newt for three months."
"Don't worry, I won't steal your snacks."
"I'm sorry, I don't have any money, so I can't pay the protection fee with dried fish."
Tina's expression changed...
