Chapter 23 Lottery
Chapter 23 Lottery
GHQ Temporary Command Center.
A segment of surveillance footage was frozen on the monitor screen.
A girl with light pink pigtails, dressed in a gorgeous performance costume, runs through the ruins with her left arm wrapped in bandages. The scene cuts to the next scene, where she is following a dark-haired man, now wearing a school uniform, and the two walk side by side out of the edge of the cordoned-off area.
The next scene shows the gate of Tianwangzhou Middle School. She is wearing a red school uniform and walks into the school with that man.
"Confirmed, she is the target."
The officer at the console pressed Enter, and the screen froze on Yuzuriha Inori's profile: "Currently, her identity is Yuzuriha Inori, a second-year transfer student at Tennozu Middle School."
"Where are the people who took her away?"
The officer retrieved another file. He Quan, 25 years old, physical education teacher at Tianwangzhou Middle School, entered the country nine days ago on a work visa. No political affiliation, no criminal record, and no suspicious background.
"That's all?"
"That's all, as clean as a blank sheet of paper."
Daryl Young leaned against the door of the command room, his short, light-gold hair gleaming faintly in the cold light of the monitor. He stared at He Quan's photo on the screen for a few seconds, then a slow smile curved his lips.
"Interesting." He straightened up, put his hands in his pockets, and turned to walk towards the door. "Finally, something fun is happening."
A physical education teacher with no connections dared to so blatantly take away a criminal and let her go to school as if nothing had happened.
Haha, that's so funny.
I'm really looking forward to seeing what kind of expression he'll make.
......
The night is dark.
Ayase lay on her side on the bed, listening to Tsugumi's even breathing beside her.
The moonlight streaming in through the window cast a blurry patch of light on the ceiling.
She kept her eyes open. The thrush was sleeping soundly, occasionally turning over and mumbling incoherently in its sleep.
Ayase gently lifted the blanket and stepped barefoot onto the floor. A chill crept up from her feet.
She stood by the bed, looking down at her legs.
My toes curled up slightly on the cold floor, then stretched out again.
It was this seemingly insignificant action that made her wait for far too long, to the point that she eventually gave up.
Ayase doesn't think she can repay this debt, but she at least wants to protect Tsugumi and Yuzuriha Inori.
After confirming that the thrush had not woken up, she walked to the door and gently opened it.
Only one nightlight was on in the corridor, its dim yellow light spreading up from the lower part of the wall, casting a long shadow of her.
Ayase stopped in front of He Quan's bedroom door.
He raised his finger, hovered it in front of the door, paused for two seconds, and then gently knocked twice.
The door opened.
He Quan stood inside the door, wearing a dark nightgown with the neckline slightly open.
The warm yellow light shone from behind, gilding his shoulders. He looked down at her.
Ayase was wearing pajamas, light blue cotton long-sleeved shirts with delicate white lace trim on the cuffs and collar.
The clothes were a little loose on her, and the neckline slipped to one side, revealing a small section of her collarbone.
Her long, dark brown hair cascaded over her shoulders, a few strands clinging to her cheeks. Her head was bowed, her hands clutching the hem of her pajamas at her sides, the ends of her hair gleaming softly in the dim light of the night lamp.
She didn't look up at him; her gaze remained fixed on the edge of the door frame.
"I......"
Ayase's voice was soft, her fingers gripping the hem of her pajamas: "I hope you won't do anything too harsh on Yuzuriha Inori and Tsugumi."
She paused, then gripped the hem of her dress even tighter.
"I...I'll satisfy you."
The sound became even softer, almost drowned out by the hum of the nightlight at the end of the corridor.
Her heart was pounding like a drum when she said those words.
Protecting Tsugumi and Yuzuriha Inori was her reason for seeking out He Quan, and also the reason she convinced herself.
They don't deserve to suffer like this.
She's different; she's a driver, a soldier, someone who should stand in front of her teammates.
But there's another reason. A reason she's less willing to admit.
She can walk now.
From the day she was put in a wheelchair, she buried the idea of "standing up again" deep in her heart, to the point that she almost forgot it existed.
She told herself that it didn't matter if she couldn't walk. The cockpit of EndRave didn't need legs, fighting didn't need legs, and living didn't need legs.
But He Quan unearthed that buried thought of hers and casually tossed it back to her, like throwing away something worthless.
She didn't know if this was gratitude.
Perhaps it was just curiosity, perhaps it was simply to obtain more information, perhaps it was just... she wasn't as resistant to this as she thought.
After speaking, Ayase looked up at He Quan, her back very straight.
He Quan looked at her.
A slender collarbone was visible through the neckline of her light-colored pajamas. Her fingers, gripping the hem of the garment, trembled slightly. Her breathing was light and shallow, but her heartbeat was so fast that he could clearly feel it through the flesh against her skin.
He reached out, grasped her wrist, and pulled her inside.
The door closed.
He Quan has been in this world for almost ten days.
He could certainly understand the way the girls and female teachers at Tianwangzhou Middle School looked at him.
With just a snap of his fingers, a whole line of girls would willingly queue up to get into his bed.
But he doesn't find ordinary girls attractive.
Things that are too easily obtained don't even inspire the desire to unpack them.
It's not a matter of appearance, it's a matter of weight.
Ayase is different; she's a driver for Funeral Parlor, a named character in the original work, and someone of importance.
Moreover, he was indeed feeling quite uncomfortable holding it in.
They've practically delivered it to my door, how can I not eat it?
......
Ayase's legs were trembling when she sat up in bed.
It wasn't a subtle tremor, but a shiver that spread from the groin all the way to the knees, a tremor that was completely uncontrollable.
She looked down at the bed sheet; on the light-colored cotton sheet, a small patch of dark red blood had been pressed into a wrinkle.
She braced herself against the edge of the bed to stand up.
My knees bent, and my calf muscles ached as if I had just run 10,000 meters. A dull, muffled ache came from the inside of my thighs.
Ayase put on her pajamas, leaned against the wall, and slowly made her way to the door. She glanced back as she reached the door.
He Quan sat on the headboard, the blanket casually draped over his waist, looking at her.
She looked away and then limped toward the door.
The pace was slow, each step carrying a deliberately suppressed soreness that no one wanted to see.
I paused for a moment as I reached the door.
"Mr. He Quan."
Ayase did not turn around.
"Thanks."
She leaned against the wall and slowly walked back to her room.
Push open the door.
The thrush remained in the same position, curled up in the blanket, breathing evenly.
Ayase gently lay back down on the bed and pulled the blanket up.
My body is still weak, and the soreness throbs gently with each breath.
Shame, excitement, confusion... my mind is a mess.
She remembered what had just happened...
Although I hate to admit it, it was really comfortable. It wasn't as rough as I'd imagined; He Quan was very gentle with her...
......
He Quan leaned against the headboard, staring at the closed door.
I just vented a little. Ayase is just an ordinary person, her body is too weak, she can't handle it at all.
I didn't get to enjoy myself at all.
He Quan withdrew his gaze and opened the system panel.
In the past few days, he has met most of the important characters in the original work and has accumulated twelve draws.
Item: Desert Eagle (Green Quality)
A silver-gray pistol appeared in his hand, heavy and with a cold, metallic feel.
I glanced at the stats: unlimited ammo.
He Quan: "From 'Infinite Terror'"
It's useless; it's just a trendy little piece of junk.
【Item: Pencil x1 (Green Quality)】
A pencil that can never be used up.
How come green quality products are producing so much garbage these days?
Couldn't they have given us a high-end item like a time-stop watch?
【Item: Baseball Cap x1 (Green Quality)】
People will look at you less often after you wear it.
It's not that I can't see it, it's that I subconsciously look away.
This thing is barely useful, a little better than the one above.
[Item: Longevity Pill x5 (Green Quality)]
He Quan glanced at the effect: one pill increases lifespan by fifty years.
Things related to cultivation.
After achieving a dual attribute level of 9.9, he felt he should be able to live a very long life. He certainly wouldn't need the Longevity Pill himself, but he could give it to others.
Tornado and the others have limited lifespans, but once he travels through several more worlds in the future, he will definitely find a way to let them live with him for tens of millions of years.
【Item: Dream Stamp (Green Quality)】
He Quan checked the results and found that he could freely enter other people's dreams without any restrictions.
This thing...
【Item: Electric Hair Clipper (Green Quality)】
The effect is that it only takes one second to shave your head completely bald.
He Quan: "..."
Then, the color of the light turned into a deep blue.
【Item: Sensory Sharing Earrings x5 (Blue Quality)】
He Quan glanced at the instructions.
Shared tactile sensation when worn.
A glance at sex toys.
I've accepted it.
The light cluster turned purple.
[Item: Monkey Talisman (Purple Quality)]
An ancient stone talisman with a monkey pattern carved on the front.
Upon seeing this thing, He Quan was startled.
The Monkey Talisman can turn others into animals; it's incredibly powerful!
[Item: Random fusion attempts x1 (quality not limited)]
[Item: 1 specified number of fusion attempts (quality not limited)]
[Item: 1 specified number of upgrade attempts (quality not limited)]
[Item: Random fusion attempts x1 (quality not limited)]
He Quan was disappointed that there were no new talents, but the four functional items were still quite useful.
He first used the specified upgrade.
The watch will pause at the selected time.
Time stop is the most unreasonable of all his abilities, second only to the Monkey Talisman.
He often uses time stop to manipulate tornadoes and blizzards.
This is only the green quality!
All other green-quality items are garbage compared to it.
[Please select upgrade target - Detecting... Target selection in progress...]
[Upgrade Target: Time-Stop Watch (Green Quality → Blue Quality)]
[Upgrade complete: Can be used three times within 24 hours, each time for ten seconds.]
Then comes random fusion.
[Please select a fusion target - Detecting... Target being randomly selected...]
[Fusing Objective: Time Stop Watch (Blue Quality)]
[Integration in progress... Integration successful.]
The talent "Fleeting Moment" has been added to the attribute panel.
The time-stop watch that was just upgraded was directly merged into it.
He Quan tested it and found that he no longer needed to press the buttons on the side of the dial; a single thought was enough to trigger it.
Luckily, the random fusion didn't result in merging with any of the junk.
Next was the designated fusion, and he decisively chose the Monkey Talisman. Holding the talisman in his hand while using it was too troublesome.
After the fusion, one thought is enough.
[Please select a fusion target - Detecting... Target selection in progress...]
[Fusing Target: Monkey Talisman (Purple Quality)]
[Integration in progress... Integration successful.]
The talent "Myriad Manifestations" has been added to the attribute panel.
The final random fusion.
[Please select a fusion target - Detecting... Target being randomly selected...]
[Fusing Target: Bamboo Dragonfly (Blue Quality)]
[Integration in progress... Integration successful.]
The talent "Flying Through the Air" has been added to the attribute panel.
He Quan was quite satisfied that he didn't need to fly with a bamboo dragonfly on his head.
[Current Information.]
[Name: He Quan]
Race: Human
【Strength: 9.9】
[Physical Fitness: 9.9]
[Items already bound: Universal Key, Food Tablecloth, Dream Stamp...]
[Number of draws: 0]
[Free attribute points: Stop increasing...]
[Talent: Unending Physique, Nourishing Vitality, Flesh and Blood Weaving Form, Transformation of Body in an Instantaneous Flow, Ability to Fly Through the Sky.]
He Quan closed the system panel. With so many new talents suddenly appearing, his strength had increased dramatically.
It's so cool to have cheat codes.
Feeling the power of his new talent, He Quan seemed to be deep in thought.
The random fusion didn't even select trash items like pencils, baseball caps, or Desert Eagles.
It seems that as his strength rapidly increased, even his luck began to subtly favor him.
He now held a stamp with a cartoon print in his hand; it was the Dream Stamp he had just drawn.
He Quan gripped the stamp and closed his eyes.
......
Morning light streamed in through the gaps in the curtains.
As Tsugumi sat on the edge of the bed putting on her socks, she caught a glimpse of Ayase getting up from the bed and walking towards the wardrobe.
His gait was a bit strange; with each step, his knees would unconsciously bend slightly, as if he were unloading some weight.
"Ayase-nee, is your leg bothering you?"
Ayase's hand stopped on the wardrobe door handle.
"fine."
She opened the wardrobe and took out her school uniform: "I just recovered, so I'm not used to it yet."
The thrush said "Oh" without giving it much thought.
Ayase was happy that she could walk again, and she would definitely thank He Quan if he hadn't tortured her in such a lewd way.
The thrush put on its socks, stood up, and walked towards the door.
As she passed the full-length mirror, she glanced at her reflection; her school uniform was neatly arranged. She reached out to adjust her hair tie, then her gaze involuntarily drifted to the other side of the mirror, where He Quan was just walking out of the master bedroom.
Wearing a dark tracksuit, with her black hair casually draped over her forehead, she looked less prim and more languid than usual, as if she had just woken up.
Tsuru's gaze lingered on his face for less than a second before she abruptly looked away, her ears burning.
She had a dream last night.
In her dream, He Quan's face was very close to hers, so close that she could see the curve of his eyelashes.
Then he kissed her.
Thrush lowered her head, staring at her toes, her heart pounding so hard it felt like it was going to jump out of her throat.
hateful.
She bit her lip hard. Why would I have such a dream?
Ayase changed into her school uniform and tied her scarf in front of the mirror.
Her fingers deftly twirled through the red fabric, tying a neat knot. Her movements were steady, her expression calm, but her mind was racing with entirely different thoughts.
last night.
The thing inside He Quan felt a faint warmth the moment it touched her skin.
It wasn't the kind of heat you feel in your body; it was a deeper kind of heat, like something seeping out of the liquid in that instant, penetrating the skin, seeping into the blood vessels, and flowing throughout the body along the bloodstream.
Then, within seconds, the soreness in her overused muscles and the soft tissues that were aching from the first time she had experienced such pain was greatly reduced.
It's as if something active is seeping out of the liquid, actively repairing damaged cells.
If it were just her own experience, she might have thought it was an illusion. But her leg was indeed healed by He Quan's blood.
He Quan's bodily fluids have a restorative effect.
Blood is fine, and so is that thing.
Ayase tied her scarf, her fingers resting on the edge of the collar.
He Quan broke his teammate's leg. Given the funeral home's medical facilities, such an injury would require at least several months of recovery.
If we could bring He Quan's bodily fluids to them, even just a few drops of blood or something else, their injuries would surely heal quickly.
Ayase put her hand down and picked up her schoolbag.
But should she really tell Ya this information?
She walked out of the bedroom.
He Quan was standing next to the dining table.
Yuzuriha Inori was already sitting in a chair eating breakfast, her light pink twin tails hanging over her shoulders as she quietly ate a slice of toast.
Thrush sat beside her, head down, a trace of red still lingering on the tips of her ears.
Ayase sat down at the dining table. She looked at He Quan's profile and at his fingers casually resting on the edge of the table.
She looked away.
Breakfast was already laid out on the table, and she picked up her chopsticks.
Should we tell Ya?
This question had been swirling in her mind all morning.
She hasn't decided yet.
