Chapter 566 Arrival at the Elf King's City
Chapter 566 Arrival at the Elf King's City
"Fendona!"
Lin Mo's voice came from outside the crowd.
Fendona turned her head and immediately saw Lin Mo striding towards her from behind the crowd.
Her eyes lit up, and it seemed as if little stars were dancing in her emerald green pupils.
She smiled politely at the tourists surrounding her and said "Thank you, everyone" in her not-so-standard Daxia dialect.
Then he jogged through the crowd and came to Lin Mo.
"Lin Mo, what brings you here?"
She tilted her head slightly to look at Lin Mo, her tone cheerful.
Looking at the smile on her face, Lin Mo felt a slight easing of the tension in his heart.
He looked around; there were too many tourists, it wasn't a good place to talk.
"I need to speak with you about something important," Lin Mo said in a low voice, his expression serious.
"It's not convenient to talk here. Is there a quiet place?"
Upon seeing this, Fendona's bright smile faltered slightly.
She's been dealing with Lin Mo for quite some time now; it seems something big has happened.
"Come with me."
Without asking any further questions, Fendona turned around and led Lin Mo through a secluded path, straight to a wooden cabin in the corner of the park.
The cabin wasn't big; it was reserved for the elf staff to rest in.
Pushing open the door, you enter to find the interior simply furnished: a rattan table, a few wooden chairs, and a pot of glowing mushrooms on the windowsill.
Fendona closed the door, and sunlight streamed in through the wooden lattice window, casting dappled shadows on the floor.
She turned around, her emerald green eyes staring straight at Lin Mo.
"What's wrong?"
Her voice softened, her tone revealing obvious worry.
Lin Mo was so serious and solemn... It was rare for her to see him like this.
Lin Mo said directly:
"We have discovered the demon race on Earth."
The room fell silent.
The distant laughter of tourists drifted in through the window, a stark contrast to the stagnant atmosphere inside.
Fendona's emerald green eyes widened suddenly.
"The demon race... has appeared on Earth?!"
"Absolutely true." Lin Mo nodded.
Fendona's expression changed; she wrinkled her small nose and said angrily:
"hateful!"
She bit her lower lip and clenched her fists.
"How did they get across?!"
"Not content with wreaking havoc on Terra, they actually want to invade Earth!"
Lin Mo looked at her puffed-up face and said:
"I'll explain the details to you later," Lin Mo sighed, his gaze earnest.
"Now, I need your help."
"Take me to see the Elf Queen."
"I need to request high-ranking elites from the Elven race to come to Earth to provide support."
Fendona nodded vigorously, almost without hesitation.
"Okay! I'll take you there!"
As she spoke, she pushed open the door and walked out, her steps quick and hurried.
The two quickly walked to the other side of the park.
Several griffins were perched inside an area enclosed by a wooden fence.
They are enormous, with the heads of eagles and the bodies of lions. Their golden feathers gleam sharply in the sunlight, and their sharp claws leave deep scratches on the ground.
Outside the fence, dozens of tourists from Daxia were leaning over the railing taking pictures.
"A griffin! A real griffin! Exactly like the ones in the movies!"
Fendona walked to the fence and said something to the elf guarding it.
The elf nodded and opened the side gate of the fence.
Fendona flipped and leaped onto the back of a griffin, her movements as light as a falling leaf.
Lin Mo then rode onto the other one.
He gripped the griffin's mane tightly; these things had no saddle, so you had to rely entirely on your grip.
Fortunately, he's been in Terra for so long that he's gotten used to it.
"Sit still!" Fendona called out as she turned around.
Both griffins simultaneously let out a high-pitched cry and soared into the sky!
The wind howled into my ears, and the ground seemed to be falling rapidly.
Screams and cheers erupted from the tourists below.
"Holy crap, it flew! I'm so envious of Lin Mo!"
"I want to fly too!!"
Two griffins swept over the commercial center and flew towards the coastline.
There, several enormous teleportation portals stood side by side at the end of the road.
One of them leads to the Elf King's City—Avinor.
As you pass through the portal, the warm golden sunlight disappears, replaced by a soft, pale green glow.
The World Tree, over two thousand meters tall, shrouds everything around it.
Its trunk is thicker than any skyscraper, and its surface is covered with grooves and lines left by time, each line like the blood vessels of the earth.
From the roots to the crown, countless vines and parasitic plants climb on it, and glowing moss meanders up the trunk, forming dazzling "rivers of light".
The tree canopy is so large that it seems to have no end in sight.
Standing under the tree and looking up, it's like standing under a green sky.
Sunlight and green phosphorescence filtered through layers of leaves, turning into countless golden specks of light that fell onto the ground beneath our feet.
The entire Elf King's City was built on this tree.
In addition to the elven structures on the ground, countless more elven structures are scattered along the main trunk and massive branches of the World Tree.
Wooden suspension bridges connect the various floors of the building. Elves walk and talk on the bridges, and occasionally an elf riding a griffin passes through the canopy, leaving a golden shadow behind.
Four elven guards stood at the portal, dressed in light silver-green armor and carrying longbows.
Upon seeing the approaching griffin, they instinctively raised their bows, but the next second they saw the people on the griffin's back.
"Your Highness Fendona!"
The four guards simultaneously lowered their bows and performed an elven salute.
Fendona nodded without pausing.
Two griffins flapped their wings and spiraled upwards, skimming the trunk of the World Tree.
The higher you fly, the denser and more exquisite the buildings on the tree trunks become.
The wind whistled past my ears, and the glowing moss on the tree trunks rushed past in my field of vision, like a flowing river of stars in the night sky.
Several griffin patrols flew over at the sound, and the riders immediately bowed in the air upon seeing Fendona.
"Your Highness Fendona!"
Fendona ignored her and simply urged the griffin to ascend faster.
Lin Mo followed behind her, the wind making it hard for him to open his eyes.
The two griffins finally flew to the top of the treetop.
This is the highest level of the World Tree, and also the power center of the entire Elf Kingdom.
A wide wooden platform extends from the thickest branch.
Two griffins landed on the platform, scratched the ground a couple of times with their claws, and then folded their wings.
Lin Mo rolled off the platform and, together with Fendona, crossed it, heading towards the palace ahead.
Six elven guards stood at the palace gates, and these six guards were clearly much stronger.
He was dressed in full gold and green armor and wielded an elven halberd.
Upon seeing Fendona and Lin Mo approaching, the leading guard stepped forward, saluted, and blocked their path with his halberd.
"Your Highness, what urgent matter brings you here?"
Fendona stopped and said:
"Lin Mo, the representative of Great Xia, has a very important request to see Her Majesty the Queen."
The guard glanced at Lin Mo, and was quite familiar with this "representative of Great Xia".
"Please wait."
