Chapter 9 New Intelligence and Trust
Chapter 9 New Intelligence and Trust
The palm-sized, glistening leaf shone faintly in Professor Zhang's aged hand, its veins flowing like breath.
Just by holding it, Professor Zhang felt an indescribable refreshing sensation wafting towards him.
It felt like being in a primeval forest after the rain, and all the fatigue from waiting all night was instantly swept away.
"Amazing, absolutely amazing!" Professor Zhang's hands trembled, his eyes filled with fervor.
He slapped away the hand that someone reached out to him from the side, glaring and fuming.
"Don't move! If anyone breaks even a little bit, I'll get mad at you!"
"Let's go back to the lab! Put all other projects on hold and analyze this first!"
Someone agrees.
"Right, right, stop arguing and let's go! I need to analyze its cellular structure!"
"I need to test its energy radiation!"
"Make way, everyone! I'm a physics major, I'll go first!"
A group of people came quickly and left quickly.
They rushed in, then eagerly followed Professor Zhang, crowding around the leaf, and left in a flurry.
In the blink of an eye, half the people in the room were gone, leaving only psychologists, sociologists, and the like.
Zhao Gang, who was in charge, let out a heavy breath, trying to calm the turmoil in his heart.
The way he looked at Lin Mo had completely changed.
If the previous period was one of scrutiny and skepticism...
So now, there is shock, importance, and... hope that carries the weight of the entire civilization.
He forced a somewhat stiff but absolutely sincere smile.
"Don't mind them, these researchers are just a bunch of lunatics."
Lin Mo snapped out of his daze and waved his hand:
"It's alright, it's alright, I understand, I understand."
Zhao Gang did not immediately ask a question, but instead raised his hand to signal.
Upon seeing this, someone quickly brought over several chairs, and the room was instantly transformed from an isolation observation room into a temporary meeting room of the highest standard.
The psychologists and sociologists who had been in the room immediately sat up straight.
They opened their notebooks, pens hovering in mid-air, their gazes fixed intently on Lin Mo.
Lin Mo understood.
I passed the previous interview, and this is my first project presentation since joining the company.
Goodness, this is even more exciting than a civil service interview!
Zhao Gang sat upright, staring intently into Lin Mo's eyes:
"Mr. Lin, could you elaborate on the information you obtained during this journey?"
Lin Mo smiled slightly.
"Of course, no problem."
Now, it's his turn to take the initiative.
He cleared his throat and recounted in detail everything he had seen and heard in the wounded soldiers' camp on Terra, including his conversation with Fendona.
"...The situation of the elves is not optimistic. Lostia City is their second to last line of defense."
"The Holy Human Race are Western humans, just like the people of the Eagle Country. By the way, I'm also human in there, and they look just like me."
"However, the Holy Humans believe in the light, and their magic has a restraining effect on the Demons, so they were beaten to a pulp by the Demons, and now only the last two isolated cities remain."
"The dwarves were driven to despair by the defeat, and the entire race retreated into their underground cities, where they are waging a guerrilla war against the demons."
"The most troublesome are the orcs, those minotaurs, catgirls and the like. Their tribal social structure is too backward, and they have suffered heavy losses."
"I've heard that several tribal leaders are already discussing whether or not to surrender to the demons..."
Lin Mo's narration is very objective, and the description is largely accurate.
Now that I've proven myself, I'm no longer as apprehensive as I was at the beginning.
But to Zhao Gang and the other experts, it was like a series of thunderclaps.
Every race, every battlefront, every detail paints a realistic, cruel, and near-destruction alien world.
When Lin Mo mentioned the "World Tree," Zhao Gang's breathing visibly paused.
"You said that the elven city was built on... a giant tree?"
"Yes, it's very, very big. From the ground up, it's about the size of our city of Bell. The canopy can cover an entire city, and it even glows at night."
Lin Mo recalled that shocking scene.
"Fendona said that the World Tree is their home and partner, and that leaf was picked from that tree."
After he finished speaking, the entire room fell into dead silence.
Everyone's attention was involuntarily drawn to the glowing leaf that Professor Zhang and the others had taken away.
A completely new species, a life form beyond imagination!
The biological and energetic value behind this is immeasurable!
The experts present were all breathing heavily, their hearts pounding with anxiety, wishing they could travel inside and study the place properly.
For the next hour, the experts began a new round of more detailed questioning.
The focus shifted from whether Lin Mo's experiences were true to the frantic digging into every detail of the intelligence he provided.
What is the social structure of the elves? How much power does the queen wield?
"What are the specific principles behind the dwarven rune technology? What is its energy source?"
"What is the hierarchy among demons? How does their command structure operate? Do lower-ranking demons possess intelligence?"
The questions were increasingly tricky and in-depth.
Lin Mo felt his brain cells burning. Fortunately, he had a good memory and had talked with Fendona for a long time, so he could answer some questions, but there were others he couldn't help with.
Finally, a senior sociology professor closed his notebook and nodded to Zhao Gang.
Zhao Gang knew what was going on. He followed the other person outside and said in a deep voice:
"So, is there any flaw in what he said?"
"The social structure, racial conflicts, and war logic of the other world described by the target are completely self-consistent and do not contain any fundamental logical flaws."
"From a sociological perspective, the possibility of fabricating such a vast and detailed worldview on the spot is infinitely close to zero."
Upon hearing this answer, Zhao Gang's tense heart immediately relaxed a little, and he couldn't hide the excitement in his eyes.
He waved his hand, indicating that the experts could leave first.
"A new world..." he exclaimed, returning to his room with renewed excitement.
There were only him and Lin Mo in the room.
"You've worked hard." Zhao Gang looked at Lin Mo, his eyes firm and resolute.
"The information you provided is of immeasurable value."
"We believe everything you say and will report it all."
"In the meantime, you can move here; the conditions are much better. What do you think?"
Lin Mo nodded quickly in agreement.
"No problem, no problem!"
He was overjoyed.
Wow, food and lodging included, and no rent to pay! Isn't this the stable life I've always dreamed of?
the other side.
Inside the S-level biological laboratory.
Professor Zhang and a group of top scientists were gathered around the World Tree leaf, their faces filled with fervor and disbelief.
"The energy analysis has revealed a highly active form of life energy we've never seen before! It's actively exchanging energy with its surroundings!"
A young researcher pointed to the image under the microscope, his voice trembling.
On the screen, the tiny wound pierced by the sampling needle is slowly healing at a speed visible to the naked eye.
"Oh my god..."
"The biological activity of these leaves is simply amazing!"
