Chapter 1963: The Bloody Battle Begins

Chapter 1963: The Bloody Battle Begins

After Xiao Zheng obtained the Golden Bone, he immediately began seclusion.

This was the twenty-fifth Golden Bone he had acquired, carrying extraordinary significance for him.

Hades did not stay to disturb him either.

Once she saw that Xiao Zheng was safe and sound, Hades threw herself entirely into the war with the Bright Church. As time passed, small-scale skirmishes continuously erupted between the two sides, and the death toll continued to rise.

However, since Hades was not very focused on the war initially, coupled with the fact that the Blood Clan was inherently disadvantaged against the Bright Church, the majority of casualties were sustained by the Blood Clan.

After leaving Xiao Zheng’s room, Hades went to the Temple.

"Bring Brent to see me."

Hades said to the attendant, then sat on the Divine Throne.

Brent was a newly appointed priest in the Temple, responsible for intelligence gathering.

Since the war broke out, he had been the busiest among the nine priests and the one most frequently summoned by Hades.

Very soon, Brent, clad in armor, strode into the Temple.

Because the armor made movement inconvenient, he did not kneel.

Hades didn’t mind, she inquired, "What is the latest battle situation? How far have the Bright Church’s lines advanced?"

Hearing this, Brent immediately clasped his hands and said, "The Bright Church dispatched a total of nine units, of which six main forces have advanced to the vicinity of the Kash Mountains. As for the remaining three units, they are advancing towards our Blood Clan gathering spots from three different directions, forming an encirclement."

"The situation is not particularly favorable."

As he said those words, his expression turned somewhat grave.

After nodding, Hades spoke, "It seems our greatest threat remains the main forces formed by those six units. If we can delay their advance temporarily, we will gain some breathing room, is that correct?"

"Indeed, but the main force is led personally by two archbishops of the Bright Church, making it extraordinarily difficult to counter." Brent said.

"What about Charles? Have you found out his whereabouts?" Hades inquired.

Brent shook his head and said, "We have found no trace of Pope Charles; it’s as if he vanished into thin air. Even the captives we’ve caught don’t know where their Pope has gone."

"Keep a close watch on Charles," Hades instructed, "As for the main forces, I will handle them myself."

Upon hearing her words, a flash of shock appeared in Brent’s eyes, and he quickly furrowed his brow, saying, "Your Highness, you’re not planning to go into battle yourself, are you? Absolutely not, with your status, you cannot take such risks!"

"I am willing to lead a team to infiltrate the Kash Mountains and intercept their line!"

At the end, his eyes had turned from cold severity to fearless resolve.

Brent knew that if he led a team to trouble the Bright Church’s main forces at the Kash Mountains, his outcome was most likely a suicidal mission. However, even knowing it was a doomed mission, he was unwilling to let Hades take the risk.

Upon hearing this, Hades shook her head and said, "I appreciate your goodwill. However, this mission must be undertaken by me personally. It’s settled then, we’ll begin tonight; contact these people and have them ready..."

She handed Brent a list with names of notable Blood Clan experts.

Seeing her determination, Brent finally ceased opposing, but before leaving, he added, "I will not prevent Your Highness from joining the battle, but I hope Your Highness will bring me to the front lines tonight!"

Hades didn’t reply verbally, but nodded slightly.

Seeing this, a satisfied smile spread across Brent’s face as he departed.

His loyalty to Hades was beyond question.

Anyone selected to become a priest had long pledged their unwavering allegiance to Hades.

With Brent’s efforts, Hades’ orders were quickly relayed. The pent-up frustration from past days stoked a fire of anger in the Blood Clan experts’ hearts. Now, learning that Hades would personally engage in the fight, they couldn’t help but become fiercely determined, rallying to Hades’ call.

Night fell.

Quite coincidentally, the bright full moon from a few nights ago was now shrouded by thick clouds, leaving only a chilling cold wind howling through the skies—truly an eerie night fitting of the old saying about the dark and stormy night being ideal for a killing.

Hades had already reached the main peak of the Kash Mountains.

Standing at the summit, she gazed down at the plain below, where large numbers of Bright Church forces were stationed. Campfires dotted the plain, resembling a galaxy fallen to the ground, each a point of starlight.

Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!

As the appointed time approached, shadows began to appear around Hades.

In just half an hour, a hundred Blood Clan experts had gathered by her side. Among them, nearly twenty were of the Martial Saint Realm, while the others were at the Half-step Martial Saint or Great Grandmaster levels.

It could be said that more than half of the Blood Clan’s experts had gathered on the peak of the Kash Mountain tonight.

After their arrival, no one spoke; they merely saluted Hades and stood silently behind her.

Once all personnel had arrived, Hades spoke, "Our mission tonight is not to kill everyone below. As the saying goes, capture the ringleader first; if we eliminate those above the rank of Red-clad Elder, our mission will be a success."

The strength of a Red-clad Hierarch was at least at the Grandmaster Realm.

Faced with the daunting task of eliminating the Bright Church experts, Brent and the others felt the weight of the mission.

Unbothered by their expressions, Hades continued, "As for the two archbishops, I will deal with them myself. We have only half an hour for the operation, remember this well."

"No matter the outcome, everyone must retreat after half an hour."

"In half an hour, the Bright Church’s reinforcements should arrive, so unless you wish to die, do not exceed this timeframe."

"Understood?"

Everyone nodded firmly, fully aware of the gravity of the mission.

As the time struck midnight, with most of the Bright Church soldiers in slumber, Hades’ eyes sharpened, and she declared, "Now is the time! Begin the operation!"

Upon her command, the Blood Clan experts descended the mountain!

The entire process was silent, like phantoms moving through the forest!

A fierce battle had begun!
