Chapter 64 Book Lovers
Chapter 64 Book Lovers
Hinata saw Boruto standing alone on the street in the distance, engrossed in reading, and thought of going up to greet him.
"Boruto... what are you doing here?" Hinata asked softly.
Upon hearing that familiar voice, Boruto trembled and slowly turned around, his body stiffening. He inwardly groaned, thinking, "Could it be such a coincidence?"
The moment Boruto turned his head, a chill spread from the soles of his feet to his entire body, and the blush on his face caused by embarrassment instantly faded away.
Because the person in front of him was his mother. If his mother found out that he was reading this kind of book, wouldn't he be ruined?
Boruto's heart felt like it was going to jump out of his chest. He quickly hid the book behind his back, the movement almost driven by instinct.
He forced a smile, which looked stiff and unnatural, but he tried his best to appear nonchalant to hide his inner panic.
"Ah... I... I'm just learning some theoretical knowledge," Boruto stammered, his eyes darting around, avoiding Hinata's gaze.
As soon as Boruto finished speaking, he immediately realized his slip of the tongue and regretted it terribly. What kind of nonsense was this book?
Uncle Kakashi, you've really put me in a terrible situation! You've put me in such an embarrassing predicament.
"Oh...I see." Hinata simply nodded after hearing Boruto's explanation. Although Boruto's behavior made her feel a little strange, she didn't think much of it.
Boruto breathed a sigh of relief when he saw that Hinata didn't ask any further questions.
"Well... if there's nothing else, I'll be going now..." Boruto said as he slowly backed away, his eyes darting around, wanting to escape as quickly as possible.
"Um...that...it's easy for you to walk like that..." Hinata's voice carried a hint of worry.
Before Hinata could finish speaking, Naruto suddenly appeared out of nowhere and slapped Boruto on the back without any hesitation, startling Boruto so much that he almost jumped up.
"Phew... I thought it was someone else, that scared me to death." Boruto clutched his chest, panting heavily, and wiped the cold sweat from his forehead with his other hand.
"Oh right! Where's the book?" Boruto suddenly realized something, looked down at his hands, only to find them empty. The book "Make-Out Paradise" that he had been holding tightly had disappeared without a trace.
While Boruto was searching for books, Hinata's gaze fell on the books spread out on the ground. After she bent down to pick up the book, her face instantly turned bright red.
Boruto's evasive actions had piqued her curiosity, so she couldn't help but glance at the contents of the book.
Hinata's gaze lingered on the book in her hands. She felt an unprecedented embarrassment; the book had instantly become a hot potato, making her palms burn.
She tossed the book into the air and caught it several times, seemingly at a loss, before finally shoving it into Boruto's hands.
"Bo...Boruto...is this the...theoretical knowledge you said you wanted to learn?" Hinata was so nervous that she stammered, unsure how to express her embarrassment.
Boruto looked at Hinata, his embarrassment growing more pronounced, but still clinging to a sliver of hope, he cautiously asked, "Um... did you really see it?"
Hinata's cheeks flushed slightly, her eyes flickered uncertainly, and she stammered, "Um... this... it's probably best to watch less of this kind of thing... I... I'm not criticizing you, everyone has a little quirk, it's normal..."
Naruto, standing to the side, scratched his head in confusion and said with a blank look, "Hey, what are you guys talking about? Why can't I understand a word you're saying?"
At that moment, Naruto suddenly saw "Make-Out Paradise" in Boruto's hand, and his face showed a shocked expression. He exclaimed, "Ah! Isn't this the kind of lewd novel that Kakashi has?"
Naruto then shifted his gaze from Boruto to Hinata, asking her, "Hinata, why did you give Boruto this book?"
From what Naruto just saw, this copy of "Make-Out Paradise" was handed to Boruto by Hinata.
Hinata blushed instantly upon hearing Naruto's question. She hurriedly waved her hands and anxiously explained, "Ah? No... that's not it... Boruto just dropped his book... I just picked it up and returned it to him..." Her voice trailed off, and she lowered her head.
Naruto felt the same way. Hinata was a bit strange, but she didn't seem like the type of person who would read this kind of book.
Hinata felt a little awkward being there, and quickly said, "Naruto-kun and Boruto, I... I have some things to take care of, so I'll be leaving now."
As soon as she finished speaking, Hinata hurriedly ran away, as if something terrible was chasing her.
Boruto initially wanted to stop her and explain, but then he thought that doing so might make the situation worse, so he had no choice but to give up the idea.
After all, the more you explain such a sensitive topic, the easier it is to cause misunderstandings.
Boruto couldn't help but recall the series of events that had occurred that day, and his mood grew increasingly heavy, as if the whole world was against him, dragging him into an endless misfortune.
Just as Boruto was wallowing in self-pity, he suddenly heard a voice behind him: "Hey, isn't this book my work? Kid, looks like you have good taste."
Jiraiya appeared behind him at some point, staring intently at the book in his hand.
Upon hearing this, Boruto gritted his teeth, felt his fists harden, and his body trembled uncontrollably, his emotions ignited in an instant.
Is this your work?
Jiraiya, still talking to himself, continued, "The world is so small. No matter where I go, I'll find my fans. It seems this book has become quite famous. Kid, do you want me to sign it for you? Hahahaha."
Jiraiya's laughter echoed in the air; he seemed unaware of Boruto's emotional turmoil.
Boruto could no longer hold back. Regardless of who was behind him, he turned around and threw a punch.
"Take this punch! You erotic novelist!"
However, Jiraiya easily stretched out one hand and steadily caught Boruto's angry punch.
Jiraiya wasn't angry at Boruto's attack. Instead, he smiled slightly and said with some regret, "What? So you're not a fan, but a hater..."
