Chapter 22 Danzo's Mission
Chapter 22 Danzo's Mission
The first lesson of the semester was about chakra.
The second lesson is to familiarize students with twelve common hand seal techniques.
Each class is forty minutes long, and there are only two classes in the morning.
The afternoon also consists of two classes: one is a literacy class, and the other is a drawing class.
This struck Minato as incredible. If it didn't include the ninja-specific courses, the schedule was almost identical to that of an elementary school, and there were even fewer classes each day!
Although there are few courses, the knowledge taught is comprehensive and full of practical information.
The teaching assistant who taught hand seals in the second lesson not only taught the twelve common hand seal gestures, but also explained the characteristics of the hand seals for the five elemental escape techniques. For example, the last hand seal for fire escape is usually Yin.
Or how to train the speed of hand seals, and what the differences are in the chakra in the body when forming different hand seals.
This reminded him of the Chunin Exams arc in the original manga, where everyone else was cheating by various means, but Sakura was honestly answering the questions, and what's more, she answered them all correctly!
During the Chunin Exams, Sasuke was supposed to be the top student among the graduates, but he couldn't answer a single question.
It seems that both schools and villages place more emphasis on the ninja's practical combat performance.
But Minato felt that theoretical knowledge was not as useless as it was portrayed in the original work.
For example, the cursed seal researched by Orochimaru.
This thing is very similar to the Karma of the Otsutsuki clan; it can even be seen as a basic version of the Karma.
This also reminded Minato of a question: were the original Otsutsuki clan members born so powerful?
That shouldn't be the case.
The younger brother of the Sage of Six Paths, and a descendant of the clan of Ōtsutsuki Hamura on the moon, his bloodline should be quite pure, but he only exhibits the Byakugan as a trait.
Therefore, Minato came up with a conjecture.
The original Otsutsuki clan may have been similar to humans, but through continuous research on chakra, they gradually evolved to their current state.
Their method of evolution was to plant divine trees, absorb natural energy from them, and refine it into pills. This was information he knew before he transmigrated.
Is it possible for humanity to follow a similar path?
For example, creating a medium like a sacred tree that can draw energy from nature.
Then, through a certain process, natural energy is converted into chakra that can be absorbed by the human body, thereby completing the evolution.
Minato thought it was highly feasible!
Then we can use that to deceive people... I suggest Orochimaru research in this area.
Actually, Orochimaru is the easiest to please in the ninja world.
He simply wants immortality, which is not impossible in the chakra system.
Unfortunately, he was blinded by desire, and all he could think about was possessing other people's bodies.
What body can be better than a body you cultivate and clone yourself?
During the two afternoon classes, Minato barely listened to anything, his mind filled with ideas about chakra technology.
The school bell rang.
"get out of class dismissed!"
As soon as the teacher finished speaking, Minato's figure disappeared from the classroom in an instant.
He had already experienced how difficult the girls in his class could be; if he didn't leave quickly, he would definitely be bothered by them again.
After checking on the third-grade floor and finding that Nawaki and the others were still in class, Minato left first.
As expected, upperclassmen don't have the same four classes a day as freshmen.
As Shuimen was thinking, he suddenly saw a familiar figure at the school gate.
"Tsunade-sensei, what brings you here?"
"Of course I'm here to pick you up!"
Tsunade chuckled and flicked Minato's forehead lightly with her finger.
"I don't need to elaborate on how special your identity is, right? Not only today, but probably for the next few years, I will come to pick you up. Even if I can't get away, someone else will come to pick you up, unless I think you are capable of handling certain dangers."
Minato nodded: "Thank you for your help, teacher."
"You have quite the sweet tongue."
Tsunade gave a soft snort, a barely perceptible smirk playing on her lips: "Even Nawaki didn't receive this kind of treatment back then! Shouldn't you repay me properly?"
"What would you like to eat, teacher?"
Minato immediately understood Tsunade's meaning.
"Hehe, so thoughtful~ Besides cooking, can you make anything else?"
Tsunade licked her lips: "I've been eating stir-fried dishes for several days now, I want to try something different."
"How about the barbecue?"
"BBQ... I'm not really looking forward to it."
"I think my cooking skills are pretty good, would you like to give it a try?"
"oh--?"
Tsunade raised an eyebrow: "Since you're so confident, fine, I'll give you a chance to show off~"
The two looked at each other and then burst out laughing.
At the entrance of the teaching building, Nono watched this scene from afar, a hint of envy in her eyes.
Then she quickly suppressed her envy and walked alone toward the edge of the village.
Before long, she arrived at a hidden underground base.
They were led by a ninja wearing an animal mask and dressed as an ANBU member to a room deep inside the base.
"Lord Danzo."
Nono looked cautiously at the man in the room.
"How is the mission progressing?"
Danzo sat upright at a low table.
"Successfully reached the target."
Thinking of that sunny and clean face, Nono felt a little guilty. Minato was right; she was indeed sent to his side by Danzo.
"My target arrived at the classroom right on time and coincidentally sat next to me. So far, we get along fairly well."
"Well done."
Danzo nodded slightly, a hint of satisfaction flashing in his eyes: "Tell me, what are your feelings about him?"
"He's an outstanding person, much more outstanding than me."
Without the slightest hesitation, Nonou said, "He is a very gentle and kind person."
"Kind…"
Danzo chuckled ambiguously: "That's not something a ninja should possess. But it's fine, I've observed that child, and he certainly doesn't have the qualities of someone like us."
"Special trait?"
Nono was puzzled.
"Some people are born to bask in the sunlight, and even the shadows cannot obscure their brilliance. Minato Namikaze is such a person. Even if the Third Hokage were to groom him as the next Hokage, I wouldn't be surprised."
Danzo glanced at her, his tone rather complicated.
"These kinds of people are always too naive, especially when they have great power... This power must be restrained in order to prevent it from harming the village."
"And you are the bond that restrains him. You are an orphan like him, but having lived in an orphanage since childhood, you can see the reality and darkness that he cannot see. This has given you a more rational mind than other children. In this respect, we are the same kind of people."
Nono fell silent.
She really wanted to say, "Who's like you? Only you, you old geezer, are the ones who are truly dark!"
Of course, she only thought it to herself.
As an orphan, she had no right to reveal herself in front of Danzo.
Nonou clearly remembered that just a few days ago, Danzo suddenly appeared at the orphanage where she lived, saying that the village was preparing to select some exceptionally talented children for special training.
Ultimately, because of her sweet appearance and calm and quiet personality, she was chosen by Danzo to be taken to Root.
Danzo gave her only one task.
That is, no matter what, we must establish an inseparable emotional bond with the mission target, Minato Namikaze!
